I Have a Dream

I want to go to New York City.

That was probably not the best hook, but it was straight to the point anyway. I'm sixteen at the moment and the closest thing I could get to my plans for the future are vague glimpses. I know this is the age wherein you're supposed to have "things figured out" but the only concrete thing I am sure of is New York.

One thing about me is that I don't really finish what I start because of either the lack of time or the lack of motivation. For example, I've always tried to start writing short stories and blogs, but I never really get to finish them. I don't like that. If I want to make it to New York City, then I've got to start finishing things and accomplishing my goals. It's not going to be easy, but at this point, nothing does. A small piece of advice? Just try.I haven't posted in here for like a month before yesterday, and I'm proud to say that I've published three new posts, including this one. For me, that's already a huge stepping stone; and where there is progress, there is change.

If you have the same dilemma as me and you have nothing figured out, then that's completely fine! There is no rush in figuring out who you are, but it is always better to give your goals a hint of realism. I do hope you accomplish and concretise your goals, because I believe in you.

Polyvore Dump

Last month, I made these sets on Polyvore, deriving inspiration from New York Fashion Week. I saw tons of outfits ranging from street wear to sophistication and I was really motivated to style outfits that I would wear to NYFW (soon!! *fingers crossed*).

Day to Night

I styled this with the idea of a transitional look that revolves around a basic cropped top (Alexander Wang, is still the god) which you can wear in the business district of New York during the day time, yet you can transform into the girl that never sleeps during the night. I paired the outfits with neutral and dark colors because they really complement each other well. I also used some gold and metal accessories to add a great, detailed finish.

NYFW

This look is a combination of street and sophistication; the embodiment of NYFW. The main outfit is very fashion-forward itself and can be paired with anything, so to mute it down, I added a leather backpack and a beanie to give it a playful touch. To add some color, I used turquoise, silver, and gold jewelry.

Fall Wishlist: Forever 21

Photo Creds to F21

If I were to be honest, I've created these edits around August-September (I'm not really sure), so I'm sorry if I haven't had the chance to post them. Our semestral break has just started and I have colds, which gives me a more valid excuse to stay in bed for the whole week (Imagine how freaking great that would be) but I can't neglect my responsibilities, especially now that I'm in my Junior Year.

Okay, so enough with the update. Forever 21 is seriously one of my favorite ready-to-wear stores because they're really trendy yet affordable. Half (maybe more than) of my closet is from Forever 21 because I literally cannot resist. Anyhow, the pieces I chose above can be really versatile, so it doesn't have to be just for the fall.

Floral Affliction - I know, I know florals are a typically "spring print" but fashion shouldn't be limited to that. I think floral patterns will add a sort of texture and liveliness to your outfit, so why not?

Graphic Sentence - Street Style is really trendy nowadays because of it's effortless feel and comfort, so definitely graphic pieces are a must.

Divisions - What is fall without it's patterns and plaid?

Hopefully, more posts will be coming up soon! I'm thinking of making a playlist? Tell me what you think :)
